It developed many Touring, Sedan, Roadster and Coach products before it officially started developing Jeeps. Prior to the production of jeeps, the firm has developed four base models and automobile lines. It is these that are the Willys, Aero-Willys, Willys-Overland as well as the Overland. Once they’ve begun manufacturing and have presented Willys Jeeps in 1941, this was the time that they have instantly gained far more popularity. They were definitely no longer referred to as a company that produced automobiles; they were then recognized to create great good quality jeeps that may survive the perils and stresses of transportation in the course of the war.
The last Willys automobile was manufactured in 1955. Even previous to that year, the company has previously been taken over by Kaiser Motors. It was not until 1963 when the name Willys was officially dropped from all productions. In 1970, Kaiser-Jeep was officially turned over to American Motors Corporation. Eventually, it was bought by Chrysler plus the original CJs are now far better referred to as the Jeep Wrangler. Since 2003 until present, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is ushered in and marketed. This was inspired from the badging for the recreation on the Willys nameplate. Although the features are no longer precisely identical, the bases of the design, concept and purpose remain the same way as a type of tribute to the original design and style.
